One of the world’s largest manufacturers of industrial products wanted a training solution for their induction programs.

The Challenge
One of the world’s largest manufacturers of industrial products was planning to provide online training programs for their new hires and wanted Emantras to develop a complete training solution for the induction programs. The challenge was to develop a comprehensive solution that would combine an orientation on the company policies, culture etc. and product specific technical training into a single user-interface and also provision for learner evaluation.

The Solution
Emantras was provided with content in the form of manuals and brochures, pictures of products etc. Our team analyzed the available content and developed an application which had all the required modules in a single user interface. The application had an introduction to the company, sections on the company’s HR policies and procedures, Quality processes and procedures to be followed, business process and workflow details and a complete section devoted to technical training on the various products that were being manufactured by the organization. The new hire thus has access to all the information for induction training in a single package.

The application was developed using state-of-the-art multimedia tools and technologies and included interesting animations and simulations explaining product features and functions. It also included exploded views of the products where each part was identified separately for the learner’s benefit. A provision was also given to track the learner and assess learner understanding. Outcome
The customer was able to conduct induction training at reduced cost and time. The new hires could take their lessons independently and simultaneously from their desks. This eliminated problems regarding space and manpower normally associated with training. They were also able to train outstation candidates easily and thus benefited from a huge ROI.
